RUTGER WIESE President/Founder

Rutger founded RutgerSports in 2003, after enjoying a stellar career as a defender in the Hoofdklasse, the premier field-hockey league in The Netherlands, his native country. He played for Groningen and for H.C. Bloemendaal. With H.C. Bloemendaal, he won two national titles (1999, 2000) and a European Championship (2001). Rutger also plays indoor. In 2010, Rutger returned to the game, playing indoor hockey with Menzieshill H.C., of Dundee, Scotland. With Menzieshill, he won the Scottish national title and a silver medal at the European championship.
Rutger served as the head field hockey coach at NCAA Division-II Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) from 2003-2010 and finished his tenure with an overall record of 96-38. His IUP teams made five NCAA appearances with Final Four appearances in 2004, 2006 and 2007. On the list of most wins of all time in the program's history, he is number one. He also led IUP to its first PSAC championship in fall 2007.
From 2006-07, he worked with the U.S. Men's National Field Hockey Team, focusing on individual skill development. WIEGER WIESE Vice President/Co-owner
Wieger played in the hoofdklasse, the premier field hockey league in the Netherlands, for three different clubs, Groningen, Laren and Pinoke. In 2004 and 2005, Wieger played in the serie A, the Italian premier Italian field hockey leahue. He played for H.C. Bra and was instrumental in the club's playoff runs in 2005. He continued his career at Rood Wit, in the overgangsklasse. In 2007-2008 he was named the teams' MVP. Wieger's playing style is best desribed as highly skillful. Wieger currently serves as the assistent coach of the first women's team at Alliance in Heemstede. He also is the headcoach of the men's indoor team of Rood-Wit. MICHAEL BOAL Headcoach
 Michael serves as the assistant field hockey coach at James Madison University. He also coached at Olton & West Warwickshire H.C., England
Michael played in the English National League, where he represented England U16 and U18 and won two national championships. He played in three university finals at the University of Birmingham, England. INGWER WIESE Headcoach

Ingwer plays forward for Roodwit in Aerdenhout, The Netherlands. In the 2007-08 season, he played for HGC, a top 4 team in Hoofdklasse, the premier field-hockey league in The Netherlands. That season—Ingwer’s debut in the European Hockey League—HGC advanced to the final. Ingwer represented the Dutch national teams U18 and U16. With the U16 team he won the European Championship.
Ingwer also plays indoor. In 2008, he represented the Dutch National Team at the EuroHockey Nations Championship II. The team won the gold medal. In 2010, he participated in the EuroHockey Nations Championship I and won the bronze medal. BALDER BOMANS Headcoach
Balder is currntly playing for pinoke in Amsterdam. He started his hockeycareer in the youth of Bloemendaal. At the age of 17 he joined Rutger in the first men's team claiming one National and one European title. At the age of 20 he decided to move to Amsterdam, to AHBC (Amsterdam hockey and Bandy Club). In the following year both teams met in the final for the championship, where a two match straight win was enough to gain his second title. In 2005 Balder won his second European title, the first Europacup 1 in the history of Amsterdam. After a good season at Amsterdam he got invited for the selection of the Dutch National team, for whom he played four official international matches. In the winter of 2005 he was one of the first European players to play in the premier hockey league in India.
SYLVIA GUERRIEI Headcoach

Sylvia played for Rutger at IUP as center midfielder. She is a three time all american and a four time all-PSAC conference, and helped the team to the conference championship in 2007, and two final four appearances in 2006 & 2007. In 2009 she served as the assistent fieldhockey coach at IUP. Sylvia is a former graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education. Tom is the head coach at NCAA Division-III Centre College in Danville, Ky. Hobbs previously served as an assistant at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2005-2006. His coaching highlights include two NCAA tournament appearances with IUP—including a Final Four appearance in 2006—and a second place finish in the U-16 A-pool at the 2007 National Indoor Tournament.
Hobbs’ playing career includes numerous national indoor and outdoor tournaments, including a silver medal at the 2004 California Cup. |
